Created in 2007 by Solène Espitalie, the social company “Les Jardins de Solène” aims to improve professional integration of disabled adults in ordinary environments. It also promotes the development of local, healthy agriculture which is respectful of the environment. Therefore, the company is contributing to a better access to fresh, local and seasonal food for collective catering and the consumers and it is also aiming for an evolution towards organic food. Les Jardins de Solène accomplishes this by developing innovative products from this agriculture and marketing them in short circuits. Finally, this helps develop a local economy, reduce food waste, raise awareness as well as promoting more sustainable consumption practices.
